Ice Cream

Ice cream and I go way back. In my childhood, after three consecutive pneumonias and intense medical treatments to cure it completely, I developed quite an appetite as a result of the treatment (yes, it is all my doctor’s fault). Since then, I am walking on the thin line between “extra few pounds” and “over weight”. As nutritious as it is, I suspect ice cream has a lot to do with it.

Swan Raspberry Eclair

Lately, I have developed a huge interest on all things Julia Child. I have ordered many of her books and her DVDs from Amazon. It is no surprise that a lot of people are obsessed with her. It is much more obvious after reading “My Life in France”. As the title suggests, it is a memoir of her life and culinary adventures during her Paris years. Her passion about food, all the details she can remember about the food she ate 50 years ago and how she takes all of these so seriously is mind blowing. Apple Cake

Apple Cake

It all started with an innocent attempt to bake apple muffins from a new book I bought: Williams Sonoma: Muffins.

It was my father again who brought apples to me and my brother, way more than we can possibly consume. And especially for me (not very fond of eating fresh apples), it was overwhelming. I had to put them into good use. My initial thought was to prepare cans of apple sauce, but then again, I don’t care for apple sauce either.
