Apple Cake

It all started with an innocent attempt to bake apple muffins from a new book I bought: Williams Sonoma: Muffins.
It was my father again who brought apples to me and my brother, way more than we can possibly consume. And especially for me (not very fond of eating fresh apples), it was overwhelming. I had to put them into good use. My initial thought was to prepare cans of apple sauce, but then again, I don’t care for apple sauce either.

Lately

Majority of my friends’ and their kids’ birthdays happen to be in the October - November time frame, so there had been a lot of baking done in my kitchen lately.
Here’s the latest. Personalized M&M cookies for two of my friends’ kids. Both of their names are Sinan so an order of candies was more than enough for these monsters. I also had a very hard working and dedicated assistant: Lal (sister of one of the Sinans).

Ricotta and Basil Muffins

When I was asked to come up with a savory muffin for Pure by Cuppa, I exhausted pretty much every website I frequently visit and cooking book I have to come up with alternatives. To tell the truth, I came across very few savory recipes that tempted me.
