Grandma

At our agency, we are very fortunate to have a garden. Our work days are usually pretty hectic. So it is kind of like a haven… to get some fresh air, drink a cup of coffee or simply chill out on a bench… And we are even more fortunate to be sharing it with these wonderful creatures.

Since the very day our agency was moved here, it has always been a home to cats who would otherwise be living on the streets rummaging through trash cans to find food. Since I started working here, I have witnessed three generations.

All the ones that stayed with us are females. At first it was the grandmother, who started frequenting our garden. Unlike others, who usually avoid human contact, she is extra affectionate. She is also very brave. Not even a dog passing the street 10 times her size bothers her.

It was soon discovered that she was pregnant. She gave birth to 6 wonderful kittens. Two females stayed. Males left to find their own territory (I believe it is their natural instinct). After a year, the females that stayed gave birth. The grey-white and mackerel tabby are the granddaughters.

Ginger is a new addition, who I think happened to like the food and decided to stay. She too was also warmly welcomed.
