Kimby - Only the texture of the hazelnut butter and the amount of baking soda will affect the spread, so my recommendation would be to use less baking soda next time around. 1/4 cup flour is correct and the brown sugar is unpacked.

Hi Cenk,
I just made these cookies-- but they spread horribly and didn't puff up at all. (They taste good though!!) I followed the recipe and used good quality findik ezmesi from the local egg/cheese seller. Refrigerated the dough overnight. Not sure what went wrong-- is 1/4 cup flour the correct amount? Also, is it 1/4 cup packed brown sugar or unpacked? Trying to figure out where I went wrong... :( Thanks!!

oh you are back :) i kept checking your blog to discover another great recipe, nd indeed these cookies do not dissapoint! they look amazing, plus i have really been into nut butters lately (ive been trying out pumpkin seed butter, almond butter and hazelnut butter- sometimes i just eat them on bread as they are so delicious!) so this is a good reason to go buy another hazelnut butter jar now!

Stephanie - Thank you. I'm sure you've eaten Nutella before; these cookies have the same roasted hazelnut taste and smell. Oatmeal makes them chewy and with the shiny chocolate pieces on top, they are irresistible. Hope you give it a try.

These look lovely! Your photos are so enticing. I bet these are wonderful tasting cookies. I love the recipe for hazel nut butter. I have never made that before, and I bet it makes baked goods especially tasty.
