Chocoholic’s Cake

May 30th, 2007  | Category: Baked Goods, Cakes, Chocolate, Ralph & The Mansion

Düğün pastası

We bartered with the prince of The Mansion. He is crazy for cars. He washes them, eats in them, parks them, talks about them and watches them on TV - all the time! After the nasty rainy day last week, he saw my muddy car and offered his services. And in return, I agreed to bake him a cake.

Düğün pastası

Vanilla cake brushed with raspberry syrup, Chocolate Swiss-Meringue Buttercream filling topped with raspberries and chocolate ganache & sugar sprinkles on top. It was a chocoholic’s dream come true.

Eerry - I find that hard to believe. I am eating all of them and there is still a long way to 300!

    Patricia - Thank you!

    Hello,
I found your page when I wrote about Swedish “kÃ¥ldolmar”.

In fact they aren’t so very Swedish - they are Turkish dolma - that Swedes learned to like when we where down in Turkey after the “kalabaliken i Bender”.
(The Turkish word kalabalik - with no dot over i - has been a Swedish word kalabalik with dot - and means the same thing).

So I wrote about our very, very Swedish kåldolmar and compared them with their origins.
Found the most beautiful picture of them at your site and borrowed the picture - I hope it was ok - I wrote that the picture was from this site.

Later in the same article I wrote about the Turkish/Kurdish kelim - which I love - and compared them with typical Swedish röllakan - and they are very look alike…

I’ve recommended people to visit your page - and warned them - because everything look so delicious - in Sweden we say that the water starts pouring in your mouth - I think you might understand what I mean…

I wish some Swede could invite me to a dinner with dishes made from your recipes. I am awfully bad in kitchen.
But the invitation could be like a birthday present or something.

If you think my borrowing of your picture is ok - Teshekkür ederim!
If not - I will replace it with another photo.

    Yours sincerely
    Lena Kronberg - Sweden

Hi Lena - You are welcome to use my photo in your blog. Thank you very much for your comments. I am shocked to find out similarities between Turkish and Swedish cuisines as well as the languages. We have the exact same phrase (water starts pouring in your mouth)!
