Quesadilla

Lazyness is bliss. Especially after a daylong hot humid weather. So what does a lazy person who is tired of take out and sandwiches prepare for dinner other than a bland instant ramen? He prepares a quesadilla. With mushrooms, black olives, green olives, cheddar cheese and Turkish pepperoni. Very flexible. Highly recommended.

Baked Salmon in Parchment

Last week, an ex-colleague/partner in crime/drop-dead-gorgeous close friend, who bears a striking resemblance to Carrie @ Sex and the City, was over for dinner. As always, this get-together was full of laughter, reminiscence of the old days at work and -of course- food.
We started planning the menu a couple of weeks in advance. She specifically had ‘one of those main dishes where only 10% of the plate is full with overly impressive and colourful food’ in mind. After she turned down a couple of suggestions - and knowing that 10% of the plate would be 100% self deception for people like us - she settled for a full plate of baked salmon and vegetables.

Sirloin Steak in Cafe de Paris Sauce - Tomato Rice

A friend of mine, who is a very talented sculptor, had an exhibition in Geneva, Switzerland last year. This was her first exhibition abroad so a couple of friends and I decided to go with her in advance of the opening day to help with the set up.
During our 3 day stay, I spent nearly every minute of my free time at a store called Globus. Not only did I eat the best Chinese food ever and bought my beloved melamine serveware, but I also found something very precious: Cafe de Paris spice mix.
